Preventative Gynecological Care
An annual exam is a very important part of maintaining a patient’s optimal health. It is important to screen for a variety of conditions, including breast and cervical cancer, HPV infection, osteoporosis and prenatal health needs. It’s also important for women to understand and consider all of the available permanent and temporary contraception options available today.
Gardasil Vaccination
Our office provides the Gardasil vaccination for patients when indicated. This vaccination is a very important strategy in the overall goal of decreasing the incidence of cervical cancer. Studies have shown that Gardasil vaccination significantly reduces the risk of HPV infection and therefore cervical cancer.
Irregular Menses
1 in 5 women suffer from heavy menstrual bleeding. Many women begin to experienceheavy and/or irregular bleeding in their 30s and 40s, as they begin to get closer to menopause. Heavy periods are more than just a hassle – they take a physical, social, and emotional toll as well. Luckily, this is one of the most common conditions seen in a Gynecologist ‘s office, and there are several effective treatment options, with medications or with a surgical procedure.
Medical Management
Many medications are available to treat irregular menses depending on the cause.
Surgical Treatment
Many surgical procedures are available for the management of irregular menses. Thisvaries from minimally invasive procedures which can be performed in the office such as the Novasure Endometrial Ablation, to more extensive but permanent cure procedures such as a Robotic Hysterectomy using the daVinci Robotic System.
